Dear Parents and Carers,

I’m delighted to welcome you to Talbot Specialist School. As Headteacher, I feel incredibly proud to be part of such a vibrant, caring, and inspiring community.

We are a Local Authority maintained school for young people aged 11–19 with Special Educational Needs, based in the south of Sheffield. We support around 250 students and their families from across the city, and we are passionate about helping each young person thrive.

Relationships are at the heart of everything we do — between staff, with students, and with families. Our dedicated team of skilled staff work creatively to deliver engaging, purposeful learning experiences that support each student’s journey towards independence and a fulfilling adult life. We want every young person to feel safe, valued, and inspired to make choices, form friendships, and create lasting memories.

We believe in going beyond expectations — helping our students achieve more than they ever imagined, and maybe more than you ever imagined they could. We do this by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment that celebrates individuality, builds confidence, and offers exciting opportunities to learn, connect, and grow.

We work closely with families, primary schools, and other professionals to ensure our provision meets each student’s needs. Together, we aim to empower students and families to make confident decisions about the future.
