Dear Parents and Carers
On behalf of the Governors, we send a warm welcome from Talbot Specialist School to all of you whose children are to have their secondary education here. We are delighted that you have chosen our school to help you with the continuing education and development of these fantastic young people.
We are very aware that transition is very important and our staff will do everything that they can to ensure as smooth a transition as possible.
As you move forward, we hope that our transition efforts and the opportunities you have had to discuss any worries and concerns you may have had have helped you to manage this enormous change that you are going through. We will welcome your comments and suggestions for any improvements that we can make to the process.
We also hope that your child will quickly settle into their new environment and that they begin to find their way around and soon start to feel that this is truly their school.
We are very proud of our wonderful staff who have enabled the school to progress to become an excellent provision for your children, who deserve the very best that we can give them. The beautiful co located building enables us to offer many opportunities for inclusive education and community involvement. It adds value to everything that we do and has proved to be a major influence in giving our students the best possible place to learn and develop.
We have a very active Governing Body that includes a number of Parent Governors. We are very experienced in school governance. Since we joined the board, we have been immensely impressed by the skill, knowledge and compassion of the staff at Talbot. Your child will be in the very best hands.
Once again, we welcome you to Talbot Specialist School and assure you that the education, safety, happiness and welfare of your child are our overriding concern at all times. We have great confidence in the skills and loving care of all the staff and know that you will see the results of this in the growing maturity and independence of your young person.
Yours sincerely,
Debbie Grainger-James and Matthew Lawton
Co-Chair of Governors
