Reading

As you’re here, taking a peek into The World of David Walliams, chances are you already know what a brilliant author he is. In fact we’re willing to bet that he might even have written one of your most favourite books ever. But did you know that he’s the biggest selling children’s author to have started writing since the year 2000? Not only that, you can also read his books in over fifty-three languages, and he’s sold over thirty-five million worldwide! That’s a whole lot of kids, just like you, laughing their pants off around the world.

Chapter One has asked our favourite authors to read one chapter from their books to help you keep students engaged and excited about reading. Where possible, they’ll include links to free teaching resources to make your lesson planning even simpler. What are you waiting for? Click on the video of your choice to start the story!

Join Julia Donaldson and Friends every Thursday at 4pm while she shares a song, story or poems, joined by a selection of guest illustrators. You can tune in at one of the links below:  Gruffalo Facebook,   Scholastic Chapter One
